How to Save Water At Home
As the population increases, the need for water also increases significantly. Saving water is not only because we have to save money on retribution, but as a step to be more environmentally friendly. The balance of groundwater needs to be maintained so that our children and grandchildren will have no trouble getting clean, decent water in the future. So, even if you have enough money to buy water, saving water is still essential. We should also do this even though we are in an area with the right water availability, in the countryside or fertile mountains. Water must be saved.
Before we look at what we can do to save water, let's first break down what water use is for.
Home water use:
From the above usage, maybe now you can begin to imagine what savings can be made. How?
We can try the following things to save water usage at home.
1. Check for leaks in drains and taps.
Dealing with water is very complicated. You may not realize it because you usually ask the plumber to solve any water problems at home. If you've ever tried to explain it yourself once, hmmm, If you haven't, then it's time you checked all the drains and taps yourself. Make sure there are no leaks. Even though it only permeates, if it continues, there will be a lot of water wasted.
2. Water the plants at the right time and the right amount
It's best to water your plants before sunrise or at night so that too much water doesn't evaporate without being absorbed by the soil. Please don't overdo it, either. Just enough. If it is too much, you will need only wastewater, and it can make the plant roots rot quickly. The average plant is watered once every two days. If you want to be even more economical, replace your plants with types that don't need too much water.
3. Use water-saving equipment
Consider buying household items that are designed to save water. Examples include water-efficient washing machines, plant irrigation controllers, water-saving attack heads and water sprinklers, water-saving setting closets, and so on.
4. Avoid washing cutlery and kitchen utensils with running water
If you were previously in a place with cheap water, this is hard to do. It feels unsanitary if you rinse a glass or plate with water that doesn't flow; for example, it has already been collected in a container. That's enough. Give it a try, and calculate your water payment next month after this whole month doesn't wash cutlery and cook with running water from the tap.
5. Reuse the remaining water that is still clean
The water used for bathing is still relatively clean enough to be reused, for example, for watering plants—leftover wastewater from the kitchen and laundry room that is not suitable due to soap content. But water from the shower can still be done. To not smell strong, make sure all family members urinate in the closet, not in the water outlet.
Those are some things we can do to save water at home. How? Do you have any other suggestions? Please share by commenting.
